I am running on behalf of International Childcare Trust. This charity is all about raising money for the children in the poorest countries of West Africa. These children and their families require our help as they have suffered all forms of abuse, separation from families and a vast lack of education. They have had their homes destroyed, some of the children never having a home to call their own. Most of the children have little chance to change their lives without our help.

Hi All, I will be running the London Marathon on the 22 April 2012 for International Childcare Trust. Guess the runtime for £5 the nearest guess will win two tickets to the winners choice of a musical at the West End in London (which i will post to the winner). I have included notes from my training over the last few months below. *Half marathon distance completed in reasonably good stead, but i may keep an oyster card in my pocket as a last resort on the day! Our annual Wine Tasting Challenge took place on Thursday 15th March 2012 in Mayfair and raised over £5600.

2012 will see International Childcare Trust launch its Cycle Nepal challenge and we are looking for 50 volunteers to join us on this amazing trip and raise money to support children in Africa and Asia.

From 9th to 18th November 2012 we will travel almost 400km through this stunning country starting in Lambini, the birth place of Buddha. From 11th - 20th November I will be cycling across Sri Lanka for the International Childcare Trust (ICT). The International Childcare Trust (ICT) believes that all children, regardless of socio-economic background, have the right to enjoy their childhood and reach their potential. We partner with NGOs in Africa and Asia - managed and staffed by local people - that protect children’s rights; in particular, organisations that address both the causes and effects of child poverty.

I will be one of 40 enthusiastic thrill-seekers cycling over 400km of Sri Lanka's breathtaking scenery exploring the beautiful central highlands and the stunning west coast. I will see ancient lagoons and canals, monasteries, tea plantations, rural villages, bustling cities, reservoirs, spectacular mountains and golden sandy beaches. I have distant memories of learning to cycle aged about 6 and more distinct ones of cycling London to Brighton twice with a youth group, but my best cycling memories are of Cycle Sri Lanka 2011 with International Childcare Trust. So there were open roads downhill and naturally uphill, potholed roads and no roads very uphill, but the pleasure of cycling in a team for the best of reasons, to help the poorest of children in Sri Lanka, could not be bettered. Or can it? I signed up for Cycle Nepal 2012 almost immediately after returning to London. I know I would regret not taking part and the more I look into the benefits of the challenge the happier I am to be going. Improving the chances for children to enjoy their childhood without suffering long hours of labour! I will gladly cycle anywhere to help the NGOs in Nepal who know best how to help children there. All aboard for the boat party of the summer!

We are bringing the International Childcare Trust fun onto the River Thames. Property Sector Velodrome Cycle Challenge Appeal

International Childcare Trust is pleased to announce its 3rd unique cycle-challenge event on 13th September 2012.

One of London's hidden gems, the Velodrome at Herne Hill has been used by cyclists for over a century and is the only building still in use from the 1948 London Olympics.

We are looking for highly competitive teams of four who can handle speed!

Participants will be doing a series of races with great individual & team prizes you will be provided with very fast professional track bikes which can take riders over 30 mph! The day will end with a prize giving to the top three teams at the Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich village and a chance for everyone to have a well earned drink!

Cost: £500 per team of four.

Every year International Childcare Trust (ICT) organizes a Financial Sector Pub Quiz, where Banks, hedge funds, law firms, accounting firms, rating agencies and media battle it out in the City to raise funds for ICT.
